The British Museum Schools team invited Wendy Shearer and poet Jenny Mitchell to lead a workshop exploring literary approaches to teaching African and Caribbean diaspora history. The workshop was aimed at primary and secondary teachers and other educational practitioners. Wendy shared her experience of using storytelling as a platform to engage students by blending myths, folklore & historical research. She also showed creative ways to link folklore and traditional stories to collections held at the British Museum and other institutions like Mami Wata and Anansi the Spider.
