The rescheduled launch of my new book Caribbean Folktales took place on Wednesday 14th September at the Barbican Library and it was a wonderful storytelling success. We had an amazing evening reading extracts and telling stories from my book – tales from the islands and the Windrush Generation.
I shared personal accounts of childhood migration to the UK from some of the contributors and discussed how I put the collection of stories and memories together. It was an emotionally charged evening with powerful stories of Caribbean spirits.
Thank you to Rachel Levy for hosting and to everyone who came, bought copies and joined in, we were so pleased to have such a warm and attentive audience filled with familiar and new faces!
