Windrush Celebrations at the V & A Museum

Today I the spent day at the Victoria and Albert Museum telling stories of shape shifting fairymaids & mermaids, fallen water spirits and protectors of the water creatures in the Caribbean sea, all from my book Caribbean Folktales.

I love waving my fan. Sometimes it’s the tail of the golden firebird darting through the canopy of trees or the shimmering colour of dawn, stretching over the horizon.

Thank you to everyone who came and packed out the gallery. It was wonderful to have multigenerational storytelling with so many people joining in.

I’m back at the V & A museum on 17th June for more Caribbean Folktales and Windrush celebrations, find out more on my events page here.
