Family Week at Barbican Cinema

As part of family film week at Barbican Cinema, I had a fabulous morning telling stories to accompany the animated film screenings of legends and myths from Papua New Guinea, France and the Netherlands! 🌎

I told stories from West Africa featuring the wise, trickster Anansi 🕷 Before my storytelling, artist Kremena Dimitrova ran a crafts workshop where children created masks and puppets of Anansi which they could bring to my storytelling. Everyone jumped into the tales!

And another impromptu signing as one boy declared “I have your book of African and Caribbean Folktales Myths and Legends! Please sign my artwork!”

How amazing is that? 🙌🏾 I love to meet readers ❤📚
