The theme for World Book Day 2026 was ‘Go All In’ and I spent 3 weeks visiting schools across London celebrating stories and books with my tales of ancient African Kingdoms, Emperors, epic warriors and deities. I make a point of celebrating a variety of cultures in my stories by bringing in details about food, landscape, traditions and language which enriches the story and makes it far more powerful. Children made my heart sing as they spoke with me afterwards about where their family are from and how happy they were at seeing their history and heritage represented in a positive and joyous way.
